Day 1.

Today is page 1 of a new book......let's make it an awesome one!

The changes to my blog kind of explain my thinking for the next year. It's a fresh start to change what I want to change and be me. I have so many things I want to do but I can never fit them in because of other things I don't want to do.

I have a number of goals and challenges that I would like to complete this year and I want to go into detail about each one so the plan is to write a list here and then to go into detail about each on in a separate post this month.

Make more time for music.
Make more time for my camera.
Make more time for study.
Make more time for family.
Keep on top and organised.
Write 8 blog posts a month.
Cleanse.

Day 365.

Today marks the last page of a 365 page book, is your book worth reading?

So it's the final day of 2014 and the end of another year. I have mixed emotions on this year and I can't really decide if it's been a good or bad one. There is nothing major on either end of the spectrum so this year has been OK but it's time to make 2015 AMAZING!

Today is a day for reflection and a year ago tomorrow I posted a blog post with my goals for 2014 and now is the time to see if I achieved them or not. Below are my goals for 2014:

1. Buy a DSLR camera.

This was something that I achieved within the first month or so of 2014 as I had wanted to and I am so happy I did. Having a camera that can do everything I want it to do has been amazing. I have been able to use it for so many things this year and I have truly enjoyed every second of it.

2. Actually use my camera.

I haven't used my camera as much as I could have done for fear of breaking it by taking it somewhere but it has had it's fair few outings and has been particularly helpful with my media coursework. However, I didn't manage to film much on my camera this year and it's certainly something that I want to do next year.

3. Help around the house more.

I have certainly been better at helping my mum more this year although there is still so much more I could be doing for her. After all it will be good practice for university where I'll be left to my own devices.

4. Be more organised.

My organisation has certainly stepped up in 2014 I now have a colour coded notes and diary system which means I can easily differentiate different subjects and events from each other. There is still work to do but my organisation is so much better than it was at this time last year.

5. Revise more and when I say I’m going to.

My revision improved this year although I still feel that I'm not doing enough throughout the year before it gets to exam season so that is something that I still need to work on a little more.

6. Go to the gym three times a week.

This is the only resolution that I pretty much failed on! At times I was really good at going but most of the time I barely made it at all.

Even though I didn't complete all of my resolutions I definitely made good progress that I can continue working on in 2015.

My Goals for 2014

Hey guys,

Weren't the London celebrations just beautiful this year??

So for about the last five years I have said that I made a resolution never to make another one and so I have kept to it and it’s the only one I have ever kept to but this year I have realised that I am just using it as an excuse not to make any goals for myself for the fear that I might fail and if there is anything I hate in the world it is not doing something I said I would do, so here are my 2014 goals:

1. Buy a DSLR camera.

This is a big one for me and I should hopefully tick this one off the list at some point in the next week. I have wanted a DSRL ever since my dad got one about 4 years ago but I know it wasn’t the right thing for me at the time seeing as I was only twelve but after working my way up the camera scale I now think it’s time to bite the bullet and spend an awful lot on a camera.

2. Actually use my camera.

Wether it is my new one or the camera that I already have I want to actually use it at least once a week. Whilst taking pictures for this blog might not be the most artistic and creative use for them at least I will be using them and building my skills. There is also a chance of a possible youtube channel appearing in 2014 so watch this space! ;-)

3. Help around the house more.

This year I want to do the things I say I’m going to do to help my mum, she does an awful lot for me and even though I say I’m going to do a these things I hardly ever do them or will do the bare minimum and that needs to stop so here’s to a 2014 of household chores.

4. Be more organised.

At the start of the college year I bought lots of folders to put my work into each week and they are still sat empty on my desk meaning I have notes everywhere, a broken folder and a near emotionally breakdown every time I try to revise because I can’t find a single thing.

5. Revise more and when I say I’m going to.

I’m really not that good at consolidating as in I hardly ever do it which means when it comes to exam time I am completely weighed down by it. However, the other problem I have is that I will eventually plan out some revision time and then never actually do it or only do it half heartedly so in 2014 I WILL REVISE!!

6. Go to the gym three times a week.

My mum pays every month for my family to go to a lovely gym and we were going regularly but we have kind of slipped a bit and I wasn’t going enough in the first place so in 2014 I will go to the gym twice a week and then go for a swim at least once a week.

I’m sure there is a million more things that I should be adding but as it is my first year in a little while that I have set myself some goals for the year I didn’t want it to be too many.

Happy New Year!! (2013)

Hey guys,

Happy New Year!! I can’t believe it’s 2014 already this year has flown by so quickly but so much has happened too. From finishing school and starting college to starting this blog, there has been a lot of ups but there has also been a lot of downs but that’s life and we wouldn’t be human if everything was perfect.

This time last year I made a decision a decision that my life change for the better and this year I am going to make that decision again and that is to forget all the rubbish that has happened in the last year, remember the good times I have had and move on ready for a fresh start to the new year. I also set myself a challenge last year which I didn’t keep but I really should have and that was to write down all of the good things that happen to me no matter how small onto little bits of paper and put them in a jar…but I failed. However, this year I won’t. For me this serves two purposes 1. When I’m having a bad day I can go through them and remind myself that good things do happen and have happened and 2. It will remind me of the good times because when I look back on this year all I can think of is Prom and Results and major things like that, whilst they were lots of fun I have forgotten all the little things that make me smile day to day and that’s a shame. So that’s my challenge for you this year write things down that make you happy, put them in a jar, write a diary or even start a blog but don’t forget everything which has happened to you.

I was originally just going to put this video on this post but then Troye Sivan uploaded this last night to his youtube and I thought it added a bit more of a comic twist onto what happened this year so I decided to add it as well.
